Keep Up to Date On Everything ACSHA
ACSHA Members,
Wednesday, December 6th is the last meeting of 2023.
We have accomplished a lot this year, though not as much as I had hoped on a couple of fronts.
What some of you learned at the November meeting is that I am not running for President of the club for 2024. I have served as ACSHA President for 16 years (I think) and so many things, good and bad, have happened in that time. I need to step back from some of the things I do to make more time for family. I won't get into details, but my wife's health has been declining for 4 or 5 years now and though we finally have a diganoses, her treatments take a lot out of her each month, so I am needed more at home than I previously was. I also feel that certain things in the club have been getting neglected as my ability to stay on top of things hasn't been the greatest in the last couple years. I have tried hard this last year to get some things back on track as well as looking to the future.
Some of the things we've accomplished in the last two years:
-- We have a new Training Coordinator (Albert Heefner), so hopefully we can get back to having regular NRA classes again.
-- We put together a team if NRA Instructors and Line Coaches
-- We have partnered with another gun shop (A&R Gunworks) to be able to offer member discounts in store as well as for some of the classes they offer.
-- We have partnered with Whitetails Unlimited to help with their banquets and receive grant money for the club.
-- We have a new website and a new Webmaster (Ally Fritz), so we thank Roman for his dedicated service in that role for the last many years.
-- The deck has been resurfaced and the floor around the clubhouse door repaired.
-- The new bridge
-- We recently agreed to purchase a bunch of AR500 Steel targets
A few items still open:
-- Need a committee and committee chair for a monthly Club house "housekeeping".
-- We need someone to organize and run the Monthly Work Days.
All that said, I am not going away. I am a life member and will still be active in the club.
